Tipster Tuesday: Collins St, Melbourne

collins-st-melbourneGood News Part A: One of our contributors, the lovely Miss Mel, just became the Managing Editor of the Raising Children Network.

Good News Part B: She is in Melbourne for the week, meeting the team and finding her way around the company’s head office.

The Tipster Tuesday Part. Let’s call it C: Mel is staying in Collins St and doesn’t really know her way around.

Can you help her? Do you know any cool places she should go while she is down there? Where should she eat?

We have done cool Saturday night Melbourne restaurants in the past but this is more of a mid-week hang-out/fun stuff to do on your own kinda thing… Anyone got any ideas?

  1. Fiona says:

Try Cafe Vue at Vue de monde

It’s not to eat, but I highly recommend ACMI down at Federation Square. There is usually something interesting on.

Also, in terms of food/coffee, there is this alleyway (in Melbourne? really?) running between Collins Street and Little Collins Street that has a string of awesome cafes. For the life of me I can’t remember which alleyway it is.

Thanks for the plug, Ms Em! And thanks to Fiona and Shaun for the suggestions – I will check them out. I asked someone in the office which alleyway you would be talking about Shaun, and I was told that all the alleyways are chock full of cafes around there. So I guess I’ll just go loiter around and find one that looks good!
