Laura is a linguistic genius who speaks French, Italian, Spanish and German and dabbles in many other languages including Latin. She wants to live in Denmark and her last overseas trip was to Sweden.

Moira completed an honours degree in Ancient History over a decade ago and is still wondering how to put it to good use. In the meantime, she has been editing and writing for magazines and is currently on maternity leave.

Genevieve Frew
Genevieve is a trained actor with a BA in Theatre and English from UNSW. She now lives in Melbourne but misses her friends and family in Sydney. At an early age, she told her father she wanted to travel the world and write about it. He responded, “What on earth for?” It has taken her several decades to get over his response, but now there’s simply no stopping her. She hopes he’d be proud.
Verity Twydale
Freelance writer and experienced escape artist who has gallivanted over, around and across five continents. Having survived bed bugs, expired visas and more than one ambiguous kebab, the lesson has been learnt that while travel is great, there sure is no place like home.
Melanie Mahoney
Melanie works in publishing. Her skin crawls when she hears people referring to travelling as ‘doing’ a country; in the parlance of such pretentious jerks, she has ‘done’ Thailand and touristy South Pacific islands and has just returned from Galapagos.
Lisa O’Brien
Lisa O’Brien is the associate publisher of the Australian edition of Travelzoo, a website that specialises in providing consumers with the very best travel deals in the market. As a journalist, Lisa has written for publications including Time Out Sydney, TNT, Girlfriend, MANIA and Blue Mountains Review magazines, as well as Online Opinion and Macquarie Network’s Amazing Australians website. She has also worked as a production intern at The Sydney Morning Herald.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) from UTS and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Journalism at the same university.
Maggie Videan
Maggie, who grew up in exotic India, has spent her whole life jetting around the world; first as an air hostess for Qantas and from then a sole sponsored travel diva. She is a professional speaker, MC, training consultant and business journalist. Her last adventure was to her homeland, Mother India and her next trip is planned to Athens.
Greta Lackey
Moving around the world with her expat parents, Greta fostered a love of travel from a young age. Every spare moment and dollar she has is spent backpacking around the world and so far she has visited most of Eastern and Western Europe, the UK, Morocco, North, Central and South America, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, New Caledonia and Saudi Arabia. Her next trip will be to Japan for the cherry blossom season.
