Trivia Tuesday: Rhodes

The island of Rhodes belongs to which Mediterranean country?

Cecil Rhodes

Cecil attempted to look dashing but succeeded in looking awkward. Poor Cecil.

Just so you know, this island has absolutely nothing to do with Rhodes Scholarships which are named after Cecil Rhodes, an Oxford scholar who also happened to be the founder of the De Beers diamond company.

Who’s having a nerd burger for lunch? Go on … you know you want to …

I visited Rhodes in 1986 on the way to Turkey – it was brief but great – and again last year on a Mediterranean cruise – this was even briefer but more marvellous.
I would love to own a little house there, high on the hills, overlooking the ocean – it would be very close to heaven.
(I tried to insert a photo here, but it wouldn’t let me…)
