Life, By Okinawa

Sponsored by Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

Oh to live forever (or at least for a very long time).

The longer I live, the more I realise that I want to live. I know that sounds a little gloomy but the truth is, when I was younger, I had no idea how to live. I drank too much. Worried too much. Ate the wrong things.

Now I am older, I know that diet, sleep and attitude are critical to whether life is worth living or not.

Which brings me to Okinawa, the southernmost island of Japan, home to the world’s oldest people.

Purple sweet potato and seaweed are partly to blame for this freakish longevity, but there is something else. Some magic that can only be unlocked by visiting.

Life, By Okinawa is a video series created by Okinawa Prefecture to help Aussies understand the extraordinary experiences available on Japan’s southernmost island.

This fun series follows the adventures of Daniel Fuchs, a fashion blogger from Dusseldorf, Germany, who has a passion for fitness. Watch to find out what happens when he’s taken out of his comfort zone and given a new fitness regime.

In the second installment, you will meet Jen and Sarah. They work in fashion and PR around Los Angeles. Keep watching to find out what happens when they experience a different set of beauty standards.

Finally, meet Tracy. She’s an entrepreneur from Singapore who’s constantly connected to her phone. Find out what happens when she has to rely on a different type of connection.
