The Langham Melbourne

The ultimate hotel for romance in Melbourne

When you fall in love with a Latino you’d better brace yourself for passion, especially on Valentine’s Day when it’s the perfect reason to express complete adoration for each other.

I learned this a couple of years ago in Cuba, not long after I met the man that would become my husband – as he spent the entire day planning a romantic surprise for me.

For this Valentine’s Day, after surviving practically an entire year of lockdown in Melbourne, missing our birthdays and anniversary, I just knew I had to make a special effort – especially with our first baby only weeks away. And so we stayed at The Langham, Melbourne.

As soon as we arrived on the doorstep, we were greeted with a smile (albeit covered with a mask). Valet parking was an absolute treat as we eased ourselves into being spoiled for the next 24-hours with Covid measures in place that felt subtle and safe, rather than restrictive.

After a breezy check-in, we headed to the Chuan Spa. My masseuse wrapped towels like a magician to make my heavily pregnant body comfortable before rubbing away any aches. Meanwhile, my love went on a sensory journey bathed in essential oils.

With a fierce appetite the buffet dinner was perfect. Chef’s served the dishes (with Covid hygiene precautions), and we met a lovely couple from the Victorian countryside who were visiting ‘the big smoke’ to celebrate in the same way we were.

With overnight accommodation in the Deluxe River Corner Room I discovered the world’s floatiest bed. Soft and fluffy my hips sunk right in until my hunger pangs (people who have been pregnant will feel me on this one) woke me for a delicious buffet breakfast. It was a little tricky to pull ourselves from the stunning city views accessed in our room, but the Melba restaurant also offered great views.

After letting our stomachs settle the pool offered a perfect temperature to relax and enjoy the skyline.

Blissed out, loved up and grateful for the experience I’m here to say that you don’t have to be with a Latino to celebrate love, especially after the year we have all been through.

You can celebrate Valentine’s Day in style with the ‘Sun-kissed Summer for two’ at Chuan Spa that includes two 60 minute massages or facials, a glass of sparkling wine (or mocktail, in our case), a dessert plate and access to the spa’s sun deck and pool for $359.00.

We recommend the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ accommodation package available from $390.00 per room, per night which includes a generous 2pm check out, breakfast for two and valet parking.

  1. Looks like The Langham is the place to be on this coming valentines day for Melburnians. It would also be great for some travelers looking for a romantic place. Wishing you a safe delivery Emma 🙂
