Life+Stuff: 3 keys
Do you want to know what the three most important things in life are?
Food, sleep and exercise.
If you don’t get that right, everything else falls apart.
It’s so easy and so hard. It’s taken me 33 years to figure this out and I still have to remind myself every time I stay up late, drink too much or decide to go on a gluten bender. Ditto for when I start to feel agitated or down. Usually all it means is that I need to go for a walk, go to yoga or have a nap.
What does your body want you to do?
Are you tired? Go home and rest. Get an early night. Don’t go out and drink a bottle of wine.
Are you hungry? Eat something healthy, low-GI and delicious. More life in your food = more life in you.
Are you antsy? Maybe you’ve been sitting behind a desk all week and you’re feeling irritable? Go on … get up! Go for a walk, hop, run, skip … whatever! Shift some energy, get some fresh air, change your scenery.
With any luck, you and your body are going to be together for a long time. Take the time to give it the attention it deserves. Your body will thank you with energy, peace and happiness. I think that’s worth the effort.
