Travel Tales: Terry Gillespie
Name: Terry Gillespie
Age: 31
Occupation: Artworker
Favourite Travel Destination? Why?: Buenos Aires… the Barrio of San Telmo, impromptu tango parties, Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, the architecture of Europe, designers of Palermo…. How much time do you have?
Worst travel experience? What happened?: Fruit picking in Far North Queensland. Working on a chilli farm is not a good idea in 35 degree heat whilst hungover.
Best tips for beating jetlag?: A few quiet ales and always wait until its dark before going to bed.
What is the one thing you don’t leave home without?: A camera with spare battery.
Do you stay in touch with people while you’re travelling? If so, what is the best way to do this?: Intermittently , usually via email but next time I will use tumblr…
Best meal you’ve ever had while travelling?: Ceviche whilst staying with mi familia in Lima, Peru. You just cant beat a slow home cooked meal.
Best/scariest/funniest drive?: Island driving in Hawaii – the unmatched beauty of volcanic mountains rising straight out of the ocean is something I won’t forget.
What has been the big WOW moment of your travelling life?: Standing atop the Säntis in Switzerland as a youngster. I hadn’t seen snow before.
