Travel Tales: Beth aka Buppa
Age: 35
Occupation: Baker
Favourite travel destination? Why?: USA- I get to see my family!
Worst travel experience?: Japan Airlines. My husband didn’t fit in the economy seat and had to sit sideways for a flight to San Fran with the TV remote implanted into his hip. Kept being woken up during flight by stewardesses singing,’tea! Tea! Tea!’. They would physically wake us up to serve coffee and Tea!
Best tips for beating jetlag?: Don’t drink anything but water on the flight.
What is the one thing you don’t leave home without?: iPod
Do you stay in touch with people while you’re travelling?: I call my husband everyday and email everyone else.
Best meal you’ve ever had while travelling?: Turkish food in Tokyo!
Best kiss?: Of course my husband.
Best/scariest/funniest drive?: Egypt. Haggled with taxi driver at Cairo airport then he upped price once inside locked taxi and wouldn’t let me out till I paid him. Never travel into Cairo airport at night by yourself as a non-Arabic speaking female.
What has been the big WOW moment of your travelling life?: The Pyramids of Giza and seeing the Nutcracker at the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.
